Carter City
Coming to Premier Illinois Boys State, few know what to
expect. Most of us are just seventeen year old guys nominated to represent our
school or area and are supported by our local Legion. We all come from different
backgrounds and obtain different moral beliefs. The interesting thing about Carter
City is that we are all so different yet we mesh together in a unified front and
effort. Of course we may lack the marching skills of a top notch and highly trained
group, but our ambitious efforts help us excel. Citizens within Carter City learned
that having fun is the primary effort of this seminar. Having fun makes the learning
and experience more meaningful as a whole. Most of us are able to sit back, relax,
and have a good time while still respecting the deeper meaning of Illinois Boys
State.
