2005 will mark the 70th anniversary of Boys State. Sponsored by the American Legion, this youth and government program revolves around a philosophy of 'learn by doing.' Participants learn about state and local government, the political system, voting, and patriotism. This program is not taught in a classroom; instead, participants spend the week creating the government and operation of a mythical 51st state of the union. This is the official website of Gleason county. Gleason county is located in Andrew’s hall, and is made of four cities: Carter, on the first floor, Kissner, on the second floor, Gazza, on the third floor, and Lofton, on the fourth floor.
