POSITION: Assistant Director Student Community Service

Position Description

The incumbent will have primary organizational, supervisory and program development responsibilities for civic engagement.  The Assistant Director will assist in strategic planning, staffing, budgeting and overall management developing key partnerships with campus office and community organizations.  The incumbent will coordinate service learning and volunteer activities.  The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting with the overall operation of the Office of Student Community Service including event planning, records management, web page development, marketing, training and development and assessment and evaluation.  The successful Assistant Director will be a creative, resourceful, self-starter professional and responsive in the ability to develop and execute plans of action.  This position requires evenings and weekend commitments.  The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Student community Service. 

 

Required Qualifications: Masterís degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Communications, Public Service, or related area. Significant amount of relevant higher education or nonprofit leadership/volunteer coordination experience.  Highly competitive candidates will possess excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills required.  Ability to effectively interpret administrative policies, make sound decisions and manage risks in complex environments.  Highly competitive candidates will possess the ability to deal with stress associated with a fast-paced work environment and multiple priorities/tasks.  Must possess a Valid Driverís License.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in working across multiple programs.  Supervisory experience.  Advance computer skills to include website development.  Experience developing publications and marketing materials.

 

Appointment Term and Application Process

This twelve-month position is available approximately December 1, 2012.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Application review begins October 22, 2012 and will continue until campus interviews are scheduled.
