Position: Assistant to the Dean, College of Education and Professional Studies
The Assistant to the Dean has the primary responsibility for assisting and advising the Dean on essential management services within the College of Education and Professional Studies, particularly as they relate to budget, personnel, and operation of the Deanís Office. Duties will include: manage budget operations for all Deanís accounts (appropriated, local, reserve, and gift); assist with managing and administering personnel procedures and personnel budget for the College; prepare and maintain summer school spreadsheet; assure accuracy of all personnel documents for the College; track ethics training and identity protection training for CEPS staff and Deanís direct reports; supervise clerical staff; gather and analyze budget/personnel/student data related to long range planning; assign, process and monitor internship tuition waivers; maintain Collegeís confidential personnel files; maintain records retention for the College; assume managing editor role for the Eastern Education Journal and routinely update website; collaborate on arranging CEPS and EIU events with others inside and outside the College; demonstrate good judgment; have an excellent working knowledge of Banner and Argos; able to work independently; make travel arrangements and prepare appropriate paperwork for Dean and Associate Dean; and prepare reports and correspondence as appropriate. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Required qualifications include: bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution; experience managing operational budgets; experience managing projects and preparing reports; demonstrated technology skills.
Preferred qualifications include: experience with faculty personnel procedures and experience with Banner and Argos.
