The Eastern Illinois University Department of Chemistry invites applications for a chemist or biochemist who will develop a research program that is closely linked to sustainable energy and/or the recently built campus renewable energy center. This tenure-track Assistant Professor position begins August 2013. The successful candidate will develop an interdisciplinary, externally funded research program (experimental or computational) involving undergraduate and MS students and strengthen the department's role in the new MS in Sustainability program. Teaching responsibilities will include courses at all levels, including introductory and advanced courses in the candidate's area of expertise. A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry or related area is required; postdoctoral or industrial experience preferred.
