Position Announcement – Eastern Illinois University
Position: Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Hospitality Management within the School of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate courses in hospitality management with an emphasis in lodging or event management, and appropriate undergraduate and graduate courses in Family and Consumer Sciences; conducting research /scholarly work; and participating in professional service activities.
Qualifications: Evidence of ABD status with degree in hospitality or related field at the time of the appointment and at least one degree in hospitality management are required. An earned doctorate in hospitality or related field at the time of the appointment, affiliation with professional organizations, evidence of successful higher education teaching, the ability to utilize instructional technology, and managerial experience in the hospitality industry are preferred.

The School: The School of Family and Consumer Sciences (SFCS) has approximately 20 FTE faculty who serve over 550 undergraduate and graduate majors. The School offers three undergraduate degree options: Dietetics, Family Services, Apparel & Textiles, Consumer Studies, Hospitality Management and Merchandising. The School offers a M.S. in FCS, M.S. in Dietetics and M.A. in Gerontology. The School is accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Students and faculty are actively involved in organizations that include Club Managers Association of America (CMAA), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society and the Student Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
