Survey of Freshmen and Transfer Students Underway - Title IX, Equity in Programming

The annual survey of freshmen and transfer students regarding their interests and abilities to participate in intercollegiate athletics is underway. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination of the basis of sex in education programs and activities. In determining whether equal athletic opportunities are available Eastern considers in an ongoing manner whether it is effectively accommodating the athletic interests and abilities of both sexes. Responses to this online annual survey are among several indicators that are used for assessing trends and the provision of opportunities. Survey results are reported annually to Athletics and others who are responsible for administering university programs. A report is posted annually in September on the Office of Civil Rights/Title IX website.
