Eastern Illinois University Graduate Dietetic Internship participates in the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System, DICAS, for the Computer Matching Process. This program uses an on-line centralized Internship application, which is accessable at: https://portal.dicas.org; email: DICASinfo@DICAS.org
The on-line application must be completed and submitted by the DICAS deadlines. The fee to use DICAS is $40 for the first application submitted and $20 for each additional application.
Additional non-refundable application fees include $35 for the Dietetic Internship. The application fee must be mailed at the same time that you submit your application through DICAS. Please mail the application fee to Dr. Karla Kennedy-Hagan, Eastern Illinois University, 600 Lincoln Ave, 1034 Klehm Hall, Charleston, IL 61920. The application fee for admission into the Graduate School is $30 and must be mailed to Graduate School, Eastern Illinois University, 600 Lincoln Ave, Charleston, IL 61920.
Applicants who apply to internships using DICAS will be asked to complete a personal statement in 1,000 words or less. Please address the following questions in your personal statement:
- Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
- What are some experiences that have helped to prepare you for your career?
- What are your short-term and long-term goals?
- What are your strengths, weaknesses, ans areas needing improvement?

The official GRE report certifying score result is required and should be mailed to Dr. Kennedy-Hagan, 600 Lincoln Ave, 1034 Klehm Hall, Charleston, IL 61920
When completing the application form, applicants must include the name and contact information (specifically an e-mail address) for each reference. This will trigger an e-mail message requesting completion of a reference form. The form will be completed on-line. Students submitting more than one application will need to use the same individuals as references for each application.

If you are interested, applications for Graduate Assistantships are due to Dr. Kennedy-Hagan on February 15 and are available for the following academic year (August - May). Complete graduate assistantship applications include the following components:

||Personal statement of goals, including which graduate assistantship you are intersted in and why (description
of nutrition-related assistantships)
||Two letters of reference
Dates for Computer Matching Process
The deadline and appointment dates for computer matching with the Dietetic Internships have been established by D&D Digital.
Students must accept or reject the computer match within 24 hours of Notification Day. Students must notify the Dietetic Internship Program Director if they accept or reject the computer match by 5:00 pm on Appointment day of the program’s time zone.
