Application Process
The Eastern Illinois University Dietetic Internship is participating in Centralized Application System for Computer Matching Process. This program uses an on-line centralized internship application, DICAS, which may be accessed at: https://portal.dicas.org; email: DICASinfo@DICAS.org
The on-line application must be completed and submitted by the DICAS deadlines. The fee to use DICAS is $40 for the first application submitted and $20 for each additional application.
Additional non-refundable application fees include $35 for the Dietetic Internship. The application fee must be mailed at the same time that you submit your application through DICAS. Please mail the application fee to Dr. Kennedy-Hagan, Eastern Illinois University, 600 Lincoln Ave, 1034 Klehm Hall, Charleston, IL 61920. The application fee for admission into the Graduate School is $30 and must be mailed to Graduate School, Eastern Illinois University, 600 Lincoln Ave, Charleston, IL 61920.
Applicants who apply to internships using DICAS will be asked to complete a personal statement in 1,000 words or less. Please address the following questions in your personal statement:
- Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
- What are some experiences that have helped to prepare you for your career?
- What are your short-term and long-term goals?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses or areas needing improvement?

When completing the application form, applicants must include the name and contact information (specifically an e-mail address) for each reference. This will trigger an e-mail message requesting completion of a reference form. The form will be completed on-line. Students submitting more than one application will need to use the same individuals as references for each application.
Applicants must also register online at http://www.dnddigital.com for computer matching and select dietetic internship priority choices by 11:59
Graduate Assistantships
If you are interested, applications for Graduate Assistantships are due to Dr. Kennedy-Hagan on February 15 and are available for the following academic year (August - May). Complete graduate assistantship applications include the following components:

Dates for Computer Matching Process
The deadline dates and appointment dates for computer matching Dietetic Internship appointments have been established in conjunction with D&D Digital.
Students must accept/reject the computer match within 24 hours of Notification Day. Students must notify the Dietetic Internship Program Director if they accept/reject the computer match by 5:00 pm on Appointment day of the program’s time zone.
