Questions to Consider
Is the party inside or outside?
If the party is inside, plan accordingly with space to store coats or umbrellas. If the party is outside, make sure your lawn is clearly designated—you don’t want guests to be trespassing on someone else’s property.
Parking around Charleston can be tight at times and no one wants to wake up with a car on their lawn. Make sure to plan in advance because destroying or mistreating a neighbor's property is the quickest way to get police at a party. During the party, make sure to walk around the house to check the parking, the noise level, and to pick up litter.
Are you serving alcohol?
If you choose to serve alcohol remember that only guests 21 years or older are allowed to be invited.
Are you using plastic cups?
Providing plastic cups will decrease clean up time and lessen the risk of cuts from broken glass. The sale of alcohol is illegal without a liquor license! Things like selling cups or shots or passing the hat are all illegal. You may be charged with either a state or city ordinance violation, resulting in hefty fines.
