Want to avoid trouble?

Here are some pointers for not drawing too much attention to your social gathering:

Keep the noise down

If neighbors complain or your party can be heard a block away, you’re likely to see an officer at your door. So, keep the music at a reasonable level and be friendly with the neighbors and the police.

Stay on your own property

The sidewalk, the grass between the sidewalk and the street are public property. To keep from violating the law of public intoxication, make sure your guests keep off of property that is not your own. Here’s the best idea – party inside!

Don’t invite more people than you can control

Keeping in control of a large group of people is difficult. To make the task easier for yourself, only invite the amount of people you can control.

Know your guests

Make sure you know everyone at your party. Usually, the most trouble is started by those who don’t even know the host.

Keep bathrooms available!

Gross as it sounds, a common complaint from neighbors is urinating in yards, alleys, and everywhere else but the toilet. Nature may call, but so will the police. Avoid this by keeping bathrooms stocked with the essentials and keep the lines moving!
