She holds the distinction of being the first woman to receive her Ph.D in Education from the University of Illinois in 1927.
Dr. Reinhardt taught as a member of the staff at Eastern Illinois State College of Education from 1927-1964 and was head of the Department of Education from 1934 until her retirement in 1964. Her book, "American Education: An Introduction," was used for many years as a text in the field.
