- This Oct. 23-25, Eastern Illinois University will celebrate one of its longest and most treasured traditions. In 1915, Eastern celebrated its first homecoming with half of the school’s alumni attending the festivities. We invite our students, staff, community members and alumni to celebrate 100 years of EIU’s Homecoming with a parade, family fun night, football game and many other events.
- What makes a Real Panther? They are our students, faculty members and staff that go out of their way to make our university amazing. They could be parents, alumni or community members. These Panthers make campus a better place each and every day. From now till the end of the semester, we will feature one of our Real Panthers every Friday on social media. Nominate one today by emailing eaedwards@eiu!
- There are 600,000 people without a home on any given night in the United States. This October, donate a pair of socks to make a big difference in the lives of the homeless. Bring your donation to the EIU Homecoming Parade and the Blue Crew will pick it up. Pick up locations are also available across campus. Don't forget to share the campaign with friends, #socktoberEIU
