Application Deadline: Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 4:30PM
This semester, the application/interview process will be conducted in 2 phases as follows:
Phase 1 – The Application: Submit online OR turn this application into the SAC no later than Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 4:30PM.
Phase 2 – The Interview: Interviews will contain two parts. First, you must prepare a 3-4 minute presentation on what you will accomplish if given a Committee Chair position. Include at least 1 piece of legislation and 1 event in this presentation. Although you will be asked to include your top 3 choices for Committee Chair positions, you need only to prepare for your top position. Please prepare and bring in PowerPoint slides(on a flashdrive). The second part of the interview will include a set of general questions.
Interviews for Committee Chair Appointments will be conducted on a rolling basis as applications are being turned in. You will receive a phone call to set up your interview. The last day for an interview will be Monday, January 14th.
Committee Chairs Must Meet The Following Requirements:
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Be in good standing with the University
- Serve as a Mentor to any new Senator that may be a part of their committee
- Schedule and Facilitate a Weekly Committee Meeting
- Attend ALL Student Senate Weekly Meetings on Wednesdays
- Complete a major project by the end of the Semester
