2014 Student Supreme Court Application
The Student Supreme Court shall be the court of original and final jurisdiction in the cases of constitutionality. The court shall have original and final jurisdiction in cases involving matters regarding Registered Student Organizations and shall have original and final jurisdiction in cases involving the Student Bill of Rights, and contested election results.
The court is comprised of four Associate Justices and one Chief Justice. The Chief justice shall be the presiding officer over the Student Supreme Court and retains all voting rights.
Justices are appointed for life term until they graduate, resign, leave school, or is formally discharged. Those appointed to fill the place of vacant Justice will serve the remainder of that term in order to maintain the composition of the court. All appointments are made through the office of the Student Body President and are subject to approval by the Student Senate through a 2/3 majority vote.
Applicants must be in good standing with the university, not be involved in Student Senate, the University judicial Board or other university disciplinary boards, have no less than a 2.50 GPA, and have obtained Junior status.
All applications must be able to attend all meetings, and serve the entirety of their life term.
