Eleanor's  Childhood

**She was born in New York City on October 11, 1884.

**She went to live with her grandma when she was eight years old because her mother died.

**She had very few friends when she was younger, but when she grew up, she had friends all over the world.

**Eleanor taught dance and gym to younger girls.

**She did a lot of sewing and took lessons in French and piano.

**Ms. Roosevelt played the piano everyday before breakfast.

**When she was fifteen, she went to Allenswood School in England and met Madame Souvestre.
