Team Rationale

Shoshone Indians were important to the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The Shoshones had

Horses that were vital to crossing the Rocky Mountains so the Corps of Discovery could continue

Onward with their exploration. The only woman who traveled with the Corps was a Shoshone woman named

Sacagawea. Sacagawea knew which berries and roots were safe to eat. This knowledge was very

Helpful in the survival of the corps when crossing the Rocky Mountains.

Once the corps found the Continental Divide it was easy sailing to the Pacific Ocean. Their expedition opened

New doors for future generations to have an opportunity for a new life and exciting adventures.

Expeditions like the one the corps did couldn’t have been successful without the help from different tribes.
