The Writing Center of Eastern Illinois University is a place where students can develop as writers and thinkers. We are committed to working with students from all disciplines, majors, and academic backgrounds at any stage of the writing process.

We are open Monday through Friday (except holidays) during the Fall & Spring semesters, and for six weeks during Summer session.

Summer Hours: Six-Week Session Only

The EIU Writing Center is open for daytime, evening sessions in 3110 Coleman Hall and weekend sessions in the Booth Library Reference Room during these hours:

10 - 11:30 a.m.
12:45 - 1:45 p.m.
3:45 - 5 p.m.

Tuesday & Thursday
8:30 - 11:30 a.m.

12:45 - 2:45 p.m.


Booth Library Reference Room

10 a.m. - Noon

6:30 - 9:30 p.m.


Additional SIHL Study Table Hours in Booth Library

(for students enrolled in the Summer Institute for Higher Learning)

7:30 - 9 p.m.

Tuesday & Thursday

Saturday (Booth Reference Room)
