Distinguished Faculty Award AnnouncementEastern Illinois University’s community is encouraged to join faculty, staff, administrators, students, and alumni in nominating candidates for this year’s Distinguished Faculty Award – one of the most prestigious honors available to EIU faculty. The award is given to EIU faculty members or chairs who best exemplify achievement teaching / performance of primary duties, research / creative activity, and service. Nominations for the award may be made by Eastern faculty, administrators, students and alumni. Candidates for the award will be recommended by the Distinguished Faculty Award Committee (made up of (4) faculty members, (2) student members, and (1) alumnus) to the Faculty Senate for approval. Recipients will be presented a monetary award, as well as a plaque at the spring commencement ceremonies. The ost recent recipients of the Distinguished Faculty Award are David Raybin (English) 2011, Janet Marquart (Art History) 2010, David Radavich (English) 2009, Robert "Bud" Fischer (Biological Sciences) 2008, Roger Beck (History) 2007, Ruth Hoberman (English) 2006, Roger Luft (School of Technology) 2005, and John Best (Psychology) 2004. Nomination forms can be found below. Nominations should include: a cover sheet, a nominating letter, the curriculum vitae of the nominee, and letters of support (up to 3 from a variety of perspectives, including: Colleagues, Administrators, Staff, and Current or Former Students).
