UniPrint

All ATAC labs (except for Booth Library) have installed UniPrint, which is a client-server application that controls and monitors printing resources over the network. UniPrint creates a controlled print environment. A student sends a document from any connected computer workstation to a networked printer anywhere on campus. The document's vital statistics, such as number of pages, type of printer, and finishing options are held at a release station near the selected printer. At the student's convenience, she/he views the printing cost at the release station and makes the final determination to print or cancel the job.

Experience has proven that once implemented, students benefit from and embrace the UniPrint Solution. Students have stated that UniPrint submission flow and flexible output options far outweigh the minimal cost that they have to pay.

For payment, students will use the chip embedded on the Panther Card (EIU Debitek card) and deduct from a prepaid amount on the card. The integrated accounting system enables cost recovery on a user pay basis.
