Elevator problems should be reported to the Facilities Planning and Management Department at extension 2178 (option 6). After hours, call the University Police Department at extension 3213. If someone is stuck in an elevator, call extension 3416 and choose option 1 any time of the day or night.
Please be prepared to answer the following questions.
- Are there people on the elevator?
- If there is more than one elevator in the building, be specific about the location of the problem elevator (including providing information on which floors are experiencing problems)
- What, specifically, is the problem (doors stuck open, control panel not indicating the requested floor, etc.)
Facilities Planning and Management administers a service maintenance contract for all campus elevators. Items dropped down an elevator shaft will be retrieved by the contractor during performance of the weekly inspection.
