Position Summary

This approximate 6 month, temporary, grant funded position, reports to the Associate Director, Health Service, and is responsible for providing educational and administrative leadership in the development and promotion of statewide alcohol, other drug and violence prevention activities within higher education settings, particularly relating to the Collegiate Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws grant. Ideally, the selected candidate will begin immediately after the new year.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

         Coordinating, implementing, supervising and administering all aspects of programs and activities associated with the Illinois Higher Education Center on Alcohol, Other Drug and Violence Prevention, particularly relating to the Enforcement of Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program.

         Monitoring  and supervising the administration of funded projects to sub award grantees

         Providing technical assistance to sub award grantees

         Serving as fiscal agent for EUDL grants and assuming responsibility for the appropriate use of funds.

         Maintaining direct contact with funding sources.

         Compiling and writing quarterly grant reports for funder.

         Reviewing and approving quarterly sub-award institution project reports.

         Assisting with other IHEC programs, events, and work plan objectives.

         Serving on state and national committees, task forces, and coalitions to promote the Illinois Higher Education Center on Alcohol, Other Drug  and Violenceís work in the prevention fields; and other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Required/Preferred Job Qualifications - Education/Certifications:

         Bachelorís degree in health education/ promotion, college student affairs or similar area required.  Masterís or advanced degree preferred.

 

Preferred Work Experience:

         Possession of health education or substance abuse certification (e.g. CHES, CSADP/CADP, CSADC/CADC)

         Ability to conceptualize substance abuse prevention/health promotion in context of higher education

         Demonstrate knowledge and skills in developing and implementing substance abuse prevention, health promotion, behavior change, and population-based theories and models.
