POSITION: Assistant Director and Investigator, Deputy Title IX Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Office of Civil Rights and Diversity

Eastern Illinois University is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Director and Investigator, Deputy Title IX Coordinator. 

The Office of Civil Rights and Diversity/Title IX Coordinator oversees all aspects of affirmative action, nondiscrimination, and equal opportunity for Eastern Illinois University; develops policies and procedures on these matters; advises members of the university about matters of compliance with federal and state requirements; implements actions that support compliance;  investigates all internal complaints of discrimination; delivers civil rights and diversity training; and liaises with external federal and state agencies by preparing mandated reports and responding to investigations and inquiries. The office carries out centralized recruitment of applicants for faculty and professional staff positions and monitors the search processes.

The Position and Requirements - Competitive applicants for this position must demonstrate how they possess the knowledge/skills/or experiences to be able to perform many of the responsibilities associated with this office including: carrying out investigations, researching and writing reports, preparing and delivering training on civil rights issues to various campus audiences, reviewing procedures for compliance, and monitoring search processes. Essential qualities include the ability to perform well with general supervision and limited staff support, to manage time efficiently, and to communicate effectively.  Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.  Relevant professional experience and/or relevant experience in higher education preferred.
