POSITION: Chair, Theatre Arts
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Review of applications begins December 15, 2012, and continues until interviews are scheduled.


Position: Department Chair, full-time position.  Subject to funding availability.

Rank: Open

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Responsibilities: The Chair of Theatre Arts has primary responsibility for the coordination, supervision and administration of programs and activities of the department.  This includes planning and budgeting; recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating faculty and staff; providing leadership in curricular matters; providing leadership in alumni relations and philanthropy; overseeing program reviews as required by the Illinois Board of Higher Education; teaching and other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications: Terminal degree in a theatre arts discipline. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research/creative activity required. Ability to work effectively with department faculty across different areas and to represent the department with other campus constituencies. Commitment to promoting a diverse environment.


Desired Qualifications: Experience in directing desired. Previous successful experience in academic leadership.  Experience in a collective bargaining environment.
