Meet the Council

Michelle Morgan serves as Administrative Aide in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences, where she has worked for the past 16 years.  I was first elected to the Council in 2005 and I am just starting my 4thterm.  I am currently serving my third term as Secretary and in the past have held the office of Vice President.  I am the mother of 2 girls, Darian and Mackenzie.

Angie Campbell is a Medical Insurance Specialist IV in the Student Health Insurance Office and has been an EIU employee for more than 12 years. Her work on the Council began in 2005; she is in her 4thterm, currently serving in the capacity of President of the Council, a position she has held two times previously. She has also served as Vice President. She graduated from EIU in 2010 and from Stephens College in 2011 with a degree in Health Information Administration. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).  She and her husband Brad have 5 children and 5 grandchildren they are extremely proud of.

Patty Hood  

Amanda "Mandi" Starwalt is employed since March 2010 in EIU Financial Aid – Loans. She is a new addition to the Council and is interested in exploring all working for EIU has to offer.

Committees: Public Relations Committee

Lori Rothrock  has been employed at EIU Child Care Resource and Referral as a Child Care Resource Specialist since January 2011.  She is a graduate of EIU and was previously a Graduate Assistant with CCR&R.  Lori is a first time member on the Council.  She looks forward to serving on the Council and hopes to be employed by EIU for years to come!!

Julie Wilkerson is employed as a Human Resource Officer in the Human Resources Employment Office. She began her employment at EIU in 1995. She is responsible for running all of the civil service registers for employment, screening, employment verifications. She has served on the Council for about 10 years. 

Committees: Public Relations Committee

Rhonda Nichols  has been an assistant DBA in the Information Technology Services department for 8 years.  She graduated from EIU with a B.S.B, M.B.A. and M.S.T.  She is married to husband, David, and have three children, Alyssa, Jackson and Erin.  Erin is is currently serving in the U.S. Army.  This is her first year on the council.

Committees: 

Mary Jo Montgomery is an Administrative Aide in the School of Technology.  She has been at EIU since 1989.  Mary Jo has two children.  Her daughter Penny, graduated from College of DuPage with a degree in Interior Design and works as a manager at a Hallmark in Wheaton, IL.  Her son Clayton is a senior in the AET program here at EIU and will graduate December 2011.  Mary Jo will also be graduating from EIU with her Master of Science in Technology in December 2011.  In her first term of Civil Service Council, Mary Jo served as Secretary.  Now in her second term with the council, she is serving as Vice President.

Laurie Neese  is an Administrative Clerk in Information Technology Services. She began her career at Eastern in 1985 at Textbook Rental Services.   In 1998, she transferred to Information Technology Services.  Her current duties include supervising of the department’s administration area’s clerical staff, and student employees, renewing software and maintenance contracts, ordering equipment and monitoring our managers’ budgets. She is a lifelong resident of Oakland.  Her husband’s name is Darin and her son Brandon is an Air Force veteran of the war in Afghanistan.  In her free time she enjoys photography, reading and cooking.  She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.  She has enjoyed 20-plus years working at the University and has made many friends, and is happy to be a part of this big family.

Paula Embry has worked at Eastern Illinois University for 25+ years.  She originally started in Housing in 1986, transferred to the University Union 1989, and for the last 17 years has worked in Human Resources.  She is currently an Administrative Aide. She has been on the Council since 1995, currently serving her 8thterm.

Janet Werden has been employed at EIU since November of 1979 – all years of service have been in the Housing & Dining Department.  She is currently an Administrative Aide.  She has been a member of the Council off and on for the past 25 years, serving in various roles.  She feels that serving on the Council has many advantages and that we are making some great contributions to the University.

Bryan Callaway  started his employment at EIU in August 1996 as a staff nurse. He completed further training in December 2000 at Indiana State University and is now a Family Nurse Practitioner. He is also the HIPAA Privacy Officer for EIU. He is a graduate of Eastern with a BS in Zoology (1979). He is also an instructor for Lakeview College of Nursing. He enjoys working with college students. He lives in Charleston with his wife and two daughters, three cats, and one bunny. He enjoys gardening, reading and watching movies. He is in his first term on the Council.

John Sigler has been employed at EIU since February 1990 and works in Facilities Planning and Management as the Associate Director of Support Services.  He is a new member of the Council.

Anthony Redding  is currently serving his first term as an alternate for Business Affairs on the Council.  He has been on campus for 16 years. He works as a Digital Computer Operator III in the ITS department in the Technical Support area.

Andy Clapp - Public Relations Committee

Melissa Coleman  has worked at EIU Child Care Resource and Referral since February 2001, where she is currently the Training Coordinator.  She is starting her 3rd term on the Council, where she has enjoyed working on the public relations committee and scholarship committee.  She and her husband CJ have 3 children; Payton, Dalton and Ashton.
