Chapter History
Theta Zeta Chapter was chartered on February 12, 1971, at Eastern Illinois University,
by 10 undergraduate Afro-American women. These young women had a vital interest
in the welfare of our youth and community. Through Theta Zeta, 256 women have
stepped forward to promote education and scholastic development. Yet as this
chapter has continued to nurture and grow, the women of Theta Zeta have
continued to implement and uphold the foundation and ideas established by the
Founders of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The Charter members of Theta Zeta

During
the 2009-2010 academic school year, Theta Zeta Chapter
will be focusing on many service projects to benefit our community. Theta Zeta
Chapter will continue its involvement with the Eastern
Illinois University
as well as the Charleston
community, in addition to addressing issues such as Sexual Misconduct, Economic
and Educational Empowerment, AIDS and other STDs Awareness and Involvement, and
various current events affecting Black America today.
