Delta Zeta Philanthropy In 1954, Delta Zeta adopted Gallaudet College (now University) in Washington, D.C. as their national philanthropy benefactor. This is the only university in the world devoted exclusively to the deaf and has a primary school, a secondary school, and an institution of higher learning. Originally, our project was to help furnish the school library; this was accomplished by 1960. As the cost of Gallaudet increased, so did the need for assistance in other fields. Delta Zeta will continue to assist Gallaudet as long as there is a need. Our Gamma Nu chapter holds the Delta Zeta Bags Tournament and Turtle Bowl to raise money for our philanthropy.
