MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL ON ACADEMIC AFFAIRS 11-04-99
The November 4, 1999, meeting of the Council on Academic Affairs was held at 2:00 p.m. in the Arcola/Tuscola Room.
Members present: Dr. Addison, Mr. Brinkmeyer, Dr. Cosbey, Mr. Davenport, Dr. T. Mason, Dr. Methven, Dr. Obia, Dr. Owen, Dr. Shonk, Dr. Wohlstein.
Members absent: Dr. Abebe, Dr. Bock, Ms. Riley.
Staff present: Mrs. Chancellor, Ms. Herrington-Perry, Mrs. Rawlings, Academic Affairs.
Guests Present: S. Ferris, A. Burton, S. Harvey, F. Hohengarten, E. Vanderbilt, M. May, F. Lewis,
F. McCormick, B. Kuykendall, G. Phipps, R. Wandling, M. Deming.
I. Minutes.
The Minutes of October 28, 1999, were approved as written.
Dr. Mason moved and Dr. Methven seconded the motion to add the following items to the agenda. Voting will be later.
IV. Policy for Counting Military Service Credit for Senior Institution Credit, 99-48.
Ms. Kuykendall, College of Sciences, presented the proposal and answered questions of the Council. The motion to approve the proposal passed unanimously.
This action approves the following to become effective immediately:
Requirement No. 12 on page 38 on the 1999-2000 undergraduate catalog.
"All military service credit based on the recommendations in the American Council on Education's Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experience in the Armed Services, and accepted by Eastern Illinois University, is senior institution credit."
