MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL ON ACADEMIC AFFAIRS 2-17-00

The February 17, 2000, meeting of the Council on Academic Affairs was held at 2:00 p.m. in the Arcola/Tuscola Room.

Members present: Dr. Abebe, Dr. Bock, Mr. Brinkmeyer, Dr. Cosbey, Dr. T. Mason,

Ms. McDermott, Dr. Methven, Dr. Obia, Dr. Owen, Ms. Rutter,

Dr. Shonk, Dr. Wohlstein.

Member absent: Dr. Addison.

Staff present: Ms. Herrington-Perry, Mrs. Chancellor, Academic Affairs.

Guests Present: L. Bates, E. Karbassioon, D. Klingenberg, J. Sterling, M. Wohlrabe, S. Gustafson,

R. Benedict, B. Kuykendall, W. Weber, and J. Lynch.

I. Minutes.

The Minutes of February 10, 2000, were approved with the following corrections:

Correspondence.

      1. Academic Waiver Report from the College of Sciences for January 2000.
      2. Academic Waiver Report from the College of Arts and Humanities for
      3. January 2000.

      4. Academic Waiver Report from the Lumpkin College of Business and Applied Sciences for January 2000.

    1. Academic Waiver Report from the College of Education and Professional Studies for January 2000.
    1. Executive Action (1-28-00) from the College of Sciences.
    2. Executive Action (12-16-99) from the College of Arts and Humanities.

III. Agenda item 00-04.

Dr. Wohlstein moved and Dr. Obia seconded the motion to add the following item to the agenda. Voting will be later.

    1. New Course Proposal, CTE 3100, Instructional Technology in Career and Technical Eduction.

IV. 00-01 New Course Proposal, ECN 4689, Theory and Research. (Postponed)

Dr. Mason moved and Dr. Obia seconded the motion to reconsider and vote on this proposal on March 2, 2000. The motion to reconsider the proposal passed unanimously.
