MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL ON ACADEMIC AFFAIRS 4-13-00

The April 13, 2000 meeting of the Council on Academic Affairs was held at 2:00 p.m. in the Arcola/Tuscola Room.

Members present: Dr. Abebe, Dr. Addison, Dr. Bock, Mr. Brinkmeyer, Dr. Cosbey, Dr. T. Mason,

Dr. Methven, Dr. Obia, Dr. Owen, Ms. Rutter, Dr. Shonk, and Dr. Wohlstein.

Members absent: Ms. McDermott.

Staff present: Ms. Herrington-Perry and Mrs. Chancellor, Academic Affairs.

Guests Present: F. Hohengarten, N. Isacson, and M. Butt.

I. Minutes.

The Minutes of March 30, 2000 were approved as published.

  1. Correspondence.

1. Academic Waiver Report from the College of Sciences for March 2000.

2. Academic Waiver Report from the Lumpkin College of Business and

    1. Academic Waiver Report from the College of Education and Professional
    2. Studies for March 2000.

5. Executive Action (4-7-00) from the College of Sciences.

    1. Letter from the Provost, regarding Achievement and Contribution Awards Selection Committee. Tim Shonk volunteered to be on the Committee.
    2. Bill Addison responded to F. Hohengarten's previous letters and announced that committee additions would be as follows:

Textbook Rental Advisory Committee - Dr. Ron Wolstein

Committee on Reinstatement - Dr. Russel Gruber

Enrollment Management Advisory Committee - Dr. Bill Addison

  1. Agenda items 00-15 through 00-21.

Dr. Bock moved and Dr. Methven seconded the motion to add the following items to the agenda. Voting will be later.

00-15 Proposed Revision of SED 3330, Instructional Task in Sec. Schools.

00-16 Proposed Revision of EDP 3325, Educational Psychology.

    1. Proposed Revision of the Community Health Option.
    2. Proposed New Major, Computer Information Systems.
    3. Proposed New Minor, Computer Information Systems.
    4. Proposed Revision of the Career Occupations Program Name.
    5. Proposed Revision of the Electronic Concentration Curriculum in the School of Technology.
