Cost Containment
The Council on University Planning and Budgeting (CUPB) has established an online suggestion box which will allow employees to submit ideas for new ways the University can reduce current costs and avoid future cost increases related to the delivery of services.
Examples of cost savings measures already adopted by various departments on campus include:
- Distributing the catalog electronically, eliminating printing costs;
- Energy conservation measures;
- Joining purchasing consortia;
- Using p-cards.
This is not an exhaustive list as the CUPB continues to collect information about other cost savings measures that have been implemented by departments across campus.
If you have employed cost-cutting measures you would like to share with the rest of the campus community, or if you have ideas for potential cost-cutting measures, you are invited to submit them here.
After logging in with your Network ID and password, you'll be prompted to fill out and submit an online comment form. These comments are viewable online; examples of the most common submissions can be found here.
