Requirements for Candidacy

  • Completion of Business 2101 with a minimum grade of a B.
  • Achievement of a 3.0 overall GPA.

Requirements for Continued Membership in Beta Alpha Psi

  • Have declared a major in accounting, finance or information systems.
  • Have completed two years of collegiate business and non-business courses, at least one upper level course in the appropriate major (accounting, finance, or information systems).  For transfer students, the most recent qualifying course must be at the initiating institution or another AACSB accredited institution.
  • Have attained a cumulative GPA in upper level courses in the appropriate major (accounting, finance, or information systems) of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Have successfully completed a candidacy program of at least one semester.  Including completion of20 hours of professional or community service activities according to the Beta Alpha Psi program. 7.5 hours of activities must be BAP professional, 7.5 must be BAP service, and the remaining 5 hours can be non-BAP professional or service.

Additional Requirements (Must meet one of the following)

  • Have a cumulative average in all subjects completed of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Have achieved a rank within the top 35% of their university class.
  • Have attained at least a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale cumulative GPA during the most recent 30 semester hours.

Candidacy and Membership Dues

  • Beta Alpha Psi National Dues – $55.00 Initial Fee (One Time Only)
  • Beta Alpha Psi Theta Omega Chapter Dues – $35.00 Local Fees (Yearly)
