Know all men by these presents that Mr. Michael Walsh and Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald are held and firmly bound unto the City of Mattoon in the penal sum of Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00) for the payment of which well and truly to be made we find ourselves, our heirs, and administrations jointly, severally and firmly by the presents
Witness our hands and seals this Third day of July A.D. 1865.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said City on the Thirtieth day of June A.D. 1865 before Syl. J. Fisher, Police Justice in and for the said City, did recover a judgment of Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) from which judgement the said Walsh has taken an appeal to the Circuit Court of the County of Coles and state of Illinois.
Now if the said Walsh shall prosecute his appeal with effect and shall pay whatever judgment may be rendered by the Court upon dismissal or Trial of said appeal, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
