Fall of 1897.  Internal evidence suggests that this photograph was taken after the cornerstone ceremonies of May 27, 1896.  It probably dates from the fall of 1897, when Charleston contractor and stone mason Alexander Briggs was hired to complete the abandoned contract of Angus and Gindele.  (Coles County Historical Society)
