Literary Regionalism is an interesting and challenging subject. Yet during the time of the Old Northwest many literary figures took on the task of writing down everything from the history of the Old Northwest to the environment slowly being changed by settlement of the region. Three key literary figures during this time were Timothy Flint, James Hall, and William D. Gallagher. Each one of these men not only contributed to the overall character of the immerging midwestern culture but also publicize it for the whole United States to read.
