Profiles :: Instructor
This month's instructor profile is Dr. Tom F. Boldrey. Dr. Boldrey will be retiring at the end of the current semester (Fall 2004.) Since most students may not ever get to experience one of Dr. Boldrey's classes, he has been chosen for the inaugural instructor profile. The Masters of Technology organization would like to recognize Dr. Boldrey for his hard work and dedication, not only to the School of Technology, but to this organization as well. Dr. Tom F. Boldrey

Professor Tom F. Boldrey has a doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado. He has over thirty years of experience and has been on Eastern's faculty since 1987. His primary teaching responsibilities are for the Career and Organizational Studies bachelor of science degree completion program for working adults.

He teaches both graduate and undergraduate classes nights and weekends at off campus sites mostly in the Champaign and Danville area. He teaches courses in career development, productive teamwork, change management, supervision, work performance technology, teaching and training methods, conflict in the workplace, and sociotechnical design.

He has a strong interest in systems thinking, dialogue, creating motivating learning environments as well as the architecture of accelerated teaching and learning. His current research interests emphasize the application of brain research for utilizing the mental diversity and intellectual capital within organizations for improving workplace relationships and reaching business goals.

Dr. Boldrey is the 1999 President of the Central Illinois Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and is also active at the national level.
