Sam Fagaly, Jazz Camp Co-CoordinatorDr. Sam Fagaly received his Bachelors of Music from the University of Florida, his Masters of Music from Louisiana State University, and his Doctor of Arts from the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Fagaly is the Director of Jazz Studies at Eastern Illinois University and Conductor of the award winning EIU Jazz Ensemble. He has extensive teaching and performing experience. ![]() Mr. Allan Horney, Professor of Jazz Studies and applied trombone at Eastern Illinois University, received his undergraduate degree from Indiana State University, with masters and doctoral work from the University of Illinois. Mr. Horney is the founder of the EIU Jazz Program and is a nationally renown arranger. He has written works for jazz ensemble, marching band, orchestra, solo trombone, and piano. He has published over 25 works for jazz ensemble and marching band and has performed with numerous big bands and solo artists. Mr. Horney has extensive teaching and performing experience. |
