NRHH puts on a large Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser in October. All proceeds go to the Mills Breast Cancer Institute at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign, IL. This institute was chosen because it helps the local community. This fundraiser starts with the selling of T-shirts. The goal is to have these shirts worn on the same day in order to raise awareness. There is also a dunk tank in the south quad during the week. This year NRHH’s Breast Cancer Awareness week will be September 12-16, with the dunk tank on September 16.

NRHH is preparing two other large fundraisers. One will be in the fall and one will be in the spring. Proceeds from these fundraisers go towards housing scholarships. Keep checking this link for more information about service opportunities!

NRHH members must have 6 service hours per semester to stay active in the organization. While helping with these fundraisers counts, we are looking to become more involved in other service opportunities throughout the year. Our fall and spring leadership retreats now have a community service component.

NRHH has also become the first organization at EIU to Adopt a Block in the Charleston Community.  Twice a month the members go and do a cleanup on their assigned block.
