When first outlining this information i noticed that everything dealing with COPE was either
- 'a lower number'
- 'occurs earlier in the alphabet'
- (C) in Cope comes before (M) in Marsh
- (E) in Edward (Cope) comes before (O) in Orthniel (Marsh)
- (P) in Pennsylvania comes before (Y) in Yale
- etc.
