discrepant events allow students to
WRITE, WRITE, WRITE AND RE-WRITE
their ideas about "what / why"something occurs.
"Saying" something is not the same as WRITING IT
writing allows you to inspect the "thought"
- change it - re-arrange it - re-state it.
every person has to do this by themselves - with
a little help from their friends.
It is call PERSONAL CONSTRUCTIVISM
- discrepant events challenge your prior knowledge
- Piagetians say they cause disequilibrium - the prerequisite for learning
- each person must struggle to restore
the equilbirium
This process is called -- learning.

- list "things" that might be causing this "unexpected
phenomena to occur"
