people know more science than they think they do. Here is a question that seems impossible to answer, but let's look at the PROCESS of solving the puzzle.

Start with what you know . . .uh . . . the moon goes around earth . . .

This is a start -- or we could say --
one orbit per 30 days
or
one circumference per 30 days
and the circumference can be expressed as . . .
circumference = [ pi x diameter ]
so we could say . . .

[ pi x diameter ]

30 days

The moon is 240,000 miles away - so its orbital diameter is 480,000 miles
circumference = pi x 480,000 miles

pi x 480,000 miles
30 days x 24 hours / day

pi x 20,000 miles
30 days x 1 hour / day

what happened to the --

480,000 mi ?

24 hours ?
