Constrast the terse dialog of the tvee show, DRAGNET -- (see Dragnet file in this folder) -- with the flowing words of this book by a Libertarian journalist. When you watch tvee shows and hang around people that speak 3-4-5 word sentences --- guess what kind of speech habits and writing patterns you develop?
Likewise, hang around those with an agile tongue-brain connection, and when you speak, people may listen (tho Buckley might be a little too mouthy and put people to sleep).

Here are two sets of 10 paragraphs.

• Note how many sentences make a paragraph (each column) &
• the number of words in each sentence (each box).
• When was the last time you wrote a sentence with 40 words in it?
• How about a paragraph with only one 47-word sentence?

I was stunned that the random choice of two groups of ten paragraphs produced about the same result: about 1050 words -- 22 words per sentence. So --- i did two more groups of ten paragraphs -- and got almost identical results. Buckley is addicted to 20 word sentences.
