G-2: kids come first

These first two assignments deal with mental development according to Piagetian tenets and focuses on philosophical and psychobiological concepts of mental development in children.

Before we can design lessons for children, the curriculum architects had better understand what their consumers are like.

G-2 piaget-paper / pencil "test"

administer the Ankney / Joyce Test to three children [ ages: 9-10-11-12-13 ], and analyze the data.

These guys were doctoral students at University of Northern Colorado and this "test" was designed to "interview" many kids at once.

Feel free to help younger kids read the questions. This is a thinking "test" -- not a reading test.

I discovered this test in Schaumburg, IL -- where they give this to incoming 7th graders --- to show the teachers that altho these kids have "big bodies" -- their minds are still very, very concrete. To wit: "go slowly" (with your curriculum demands).
