About SCORE Southeastern Illinois Chapter

The Southeastern Illinois SCORE Chapter No. 0706 was initially established in January 2005 under the supervision of the Decatur Illinois SCORE Chapter No. 296. It received formal independent status in October 2009. It is jointly sponsored by the Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce and Eastern Illinois University's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a part of Lumpkin College of Business and Applied Sciences.

Since establishment, the Southeastern Illinois chapter has counseled hundreds of clients representing a vast array of businesses. Workshops are offered on a regular basis, including Entrepreneurship: How to Start a Business and Understanding Your Business Financial Statements. A SCORE office, including a conference room for group discussions, training sessions, and individual meetings with clients, is available on the EIU campus.

Here are just a few ways SCORE's national association can help you:

  1. Receive online mentoring and business advice. ASKSCORE is an online resource connecting you with a personal advisor who can advise you based on your specific business-related questions. Advisors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  2. SCORE offers both online and on-site workshops for business owners establishing their new businesses and for established entrepreneurs to market their business and manage the financial aspects of their venture.
