Become a Volunteer

Volunteer with SCORE today and help make dreams come true. SCORE is looking for experienced business experts, professionals, owners and managers who want to help small businesses succeed and grow. Since 1964, national volunteers have helped more than 8.5 million small business owners live their dreams.

If you are a skilled leader who enjoys motivating an individual or team, consider volunteering to fulfill a leadership role within SCORE. As a SCORE volunteer, your skills, ranging from leadership and management to professional and administrative, are used to help operate SCORE offices.

Benefits of Volunteering with SCORE

SCORE volunteers enjoy a variety of rewards, including:

  • Community leadership and recognition.
  • Lifelong learning.
  • Chance to give back.
  • Professional and personal growth.

SCORE Volunteers Make a Difference

As a SCORE volunteer you can:

  • Be a mentor.
  • Help entrepreneurs succeed.
  • Lead workshops and seminars.
  • Provide online counseling directly from your home or office.
  • Serve as a SCORE leader.

Each year, almost 13,000 SCORE business mentors — men and women, working and retired — counsel hundreds of thousands of small business owners from nearly 400 offices nationwide. All business counselors honor a code of ethics that ensures client confidentiality and professional conduct.

The Southeastern Illinois SCORE Chapter invites community-conscious individuals who enjoy business challenges, learning, and problem-solving, to share their knowledge with emerging and practicing business entrepreneurs.

Volunteers provide confidential one-to-one and team business counseling and low-cost entrepreneurial training workshops. In addition, many counselors are virtual volunteers, providing e-mail counseling directly from their homes or offices.
