The Touch of Nature Environmental Center (TONEC) is a 1250-ha
extension/education/outreach facility of Southern Illinois University,
located in Jackson County in Southern Illinois. It consists of mostly
wooded habitat, bordered on one side by the 280-ha Little Grassy Lake,
and is along the northern edge of Shawnee National Forest.
