Snake sightings and collection regulations

• We will attempt to have as many of the snake species found in Jackson County on display throughout the conference. Please treat any specimens that you wish to photograph with the respect they deserve.
• Conference attendees can roam the TONEC property anytime during their stay. However, no permanent collection of any wildlife will be allowed.
• The State of Illinois requires that anyone collecting any species of wildlife be in possession of valid permits. The post-conference field trips are to areas where access and collection is much stricter - if you wish to collect specimens (not something we're going to advocate) you assume complete responsibility for acquiring the necessary permits and contacting the appropriate individuals at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
