Notes: On all maps, the blue pin represents TONEC. Distances are given in miles as, unfortunately, that is what you will encounter on the roadways in the U.S.

Directions from St. Louis International Airport

Directions from within the U.S.:

Driving directions from the North

  • Approach on Interstate-57, and take exit #54, heading west on Illinois Route 13 (towards Carbondale)
  • After approximately 15 miles on IL-13, turn left onto Giant City Road (there is a traffic light at this intersection; if you reach downtown Carbondale, you have gone too far)
  • After approximately 7.5 miles on Giant City Road, turn left onto Touch of Nature Road (TONEC sign will be on your left at this intersection – see blue pin on map, above)
  • At this point, be on the look-out-for SEG-IV signs.
  • Take the first available left on to Fern Ridge Road and follow this to the parking lot for Camp 1.

Driving directions from the South

  • Approach on either Interstate-57 or Interstate-24 (merges with I-57 in southern Illinois).
  • From north-bound I-57 take exit #54, heading west on Illinois Route 13 (towards Carbondale).
  • After approximately 15 miles on IL-13, turn left onto Giant City Road (there is a traffic light at this intersection; if you reach downtown Carbondale, you have gone too far.)
  • After approximately 7.5 miles on Giant City Road, turn left onto Touch of Nature Road (TONEC sign will be on your left at this intersection - see blue pin on map, above).
  • At this point, be on the look-out for the SEG-IV signs.
  • Take the first available left on to Fern Ridge Road and follow this to the parking lot for Camp 1.

  • Approach on Interstate-64 to Interstate-57, then take I-57 south and follow directions from the North (above).
