Chapter History

Illinois Nu was founded on November 1, 1990 in the home of Dr. Charles Eberly  (a.k.a. Doc). Within two short years, the chapter was chartered on November 21, 1992 at the Chancellor Hotel in Champaign Illinois. Since that date, Illinois Nu has accumulated many acomplishments. foundersAt the 1995 Conclave in Orlando, Flordia, Illinois Nu received its first Buchanan Cup. The Buchanan Cup is the highest award given to a Sig Ep chapter. Illinois Nu also won at that Conclave, the Order of Philias. The Order of Philias is an award given to a chapter or an individual that shows unconditional brotherly love. We won this award for working with Alex Kusmanoff, an autistic individual who lived in the Sigma Phi Epsilon Chapter House. The 1997 Conclave in Pheonix Arizona was just as big of a success as the 1995 conclave. Illinois Nu recieved its second Buchanan Cup and was given high praise for all it has accomplished since 1992.
