| History and Mission The Eastern Illinois University Student Legal Service (SLS), a division of Student Affairs, is a service available to all full-time students. The service was started August of 1980, with a staff of one full-time attorney and secretary. The staff attorney provides legal advice and direction on any topic. If your legal problem can not be handled by the Student Legal Services, the attorney can assist you in sorting out the problem and direct you to other legal resources that can help. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance, and the attorney/client relationship is respected at all times. The purpose of this web site is to provide general information for Eastern Illinois University students and is NOT intended as a substitute for the advice of an attorney. |
