Our meetings are always open and everyone is welcome to attend. If anyone has any questions or issues, please contact one of the Senators.

Staff Senate Elections

The annual Staff Senate election will be held April 24, 2024.

Any employee interested in running for a position as staff senator may fill out a Nomination Petition. The deadline to submit a petition is April 3, 2024 at 3 p.m.

Employee categories eligible for election this Spring:

• 1 position from the Non-Negotiated Trades employee group
• 1 position from the Non-Negotiated Civil Service employee group
• 1 position from the AFSCME 981 employee group

Eligible candidates must be employed at EIU for one (1) year and must not be a member of President’s Council, Provost’s Advisory Group, or be represented by Faculty Senate.
